Public Health Wales (ACE Hub Wales)

Public Health Wales – ACEs and Trauma E-learning Module

Public Health Wales is part of the NHS, and over the past two years, I’ve had the opportunity to work on a range of digital projects across multiple NHS bodies and branches. While many of these remain confidential until public release, one project with Public Health Wales is publicly available and highlights my experience in creating accessible, impactful digital learning.

The project brief was to develop an e-learning module focused on Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and general trauma. The content was provided by subject matter experts, and the final product needed to meet WCAG 2.2 accessibility standards to ensure it was inclusive and accessible to all users.

My role included both hands-on development of the module and direct collaboration with Public Health Wales employees and topic experts. I gathered and expert input, contributed to the content structure, and helped ensure the final experience was informative, sensitive, and easy to navigate.

Rugby365

Rugby365 – AGP Maintenance & Management E-learning Platform

Rugby365 approached us with the goal of transforming a static set of informational resources into an engaging e-learning course that could evolve over time into a platform for information on the management and maintenance of AGP’s (Artificial Grass Pitches) across England.

Working with Rugby365, who provided the content, I was responsible for re-imagining the material into a visually engaging and user-friendly learning experience.

I was involved from the earliest stages of the project, contributing to its conception, leading on the design and development of the course, and refining the experience iteratively based on regular feedback from Rugby365 stakeholders. This collaborative, agile approach helped ensure the final product aligned closely with their vision.

Pitch & Co + Academii

Pitch & Co – Pitch Perfect E-learning Course

Pitch & Co partnered with my employer, Academii, to develop a multi-week e-learning programme designed to help professionals refine and improve their pitch skills. The course featured a blend of animated content and live-action footage.

I was involved in the project from inception to delivery, taking a leading role in shaping the overall vision. My responsibilities included early-stage planning and discussions with Pitch & Co, as well as hands-on development of both the e-learning platform and the supporting multimedia assets.

This involved creating animated video introductions for each module, enhancing and editing live-action footage, and designing the course interface and navigation. The completed course was delivered via a LMS (Learning Management System).

The tools I used for this project were Premiere Pro, Articulate Storyline, After Effects, and TalentLMS

SSEN

My work with SSEN (Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks) often involved projects that blended e-learning design with video production, animation, and interactive elements like games.

The two most notable projects I have worked on were:

  • SSEN Smart Hammer Hub - This e-learning course was developed to support internal training around SSEN’s Smart Hammer device. The module included product walkthroughs, supporting videos, and interactive learning elements such as 3D models of the device. I was responsible for both the development of the course and the creation of multimedia content. The final product was device-agnostic and hosted on a Learning Management System (LMS).

  • SSEN Entering a Substation Training Module - This module modernised SSEN’s internal guidance on how to safely enter a substation. Based on technical content provided by the client, I worked on both the e-learning development and an accompanying video project. The final output provided learners with a mix of visual instruction and interactive learning.

Due to the confidential nature of the SSEN projects, I’m unable to share visual examples. However, I can provide further insight into my specific contributions and the scope of each project.

  • The Smart Hammer Hub module involved the integration of 3D models and custom video content. I was directly involved in the filming and editing of the Smart Hammer demonstration videos, as well as the overall conception and production of the e-learning module. I also worked closely with SSEN stakeholders throughout the process, refining the content across multiple feedback rounds to ensure it met both instructional and visual expectations.

  • The Entering a Substation project extended beyond the typical e-learning format. In addition to producing and integrating live-action video, I developed an interactive 360-degree hazard-spotting game using Articulate Storyline. This feature was part of a broader educational initiative to help learners preparing for their CAT 1 Qualification visually identify safety risks when entering an electricity substation.
